Cole Brown Strategies was founded by Carolyn Mosby in 1997 when her childhood friend, an up-and-coming rapper, needed publicity. In addition to advising athletes, entertainers, politicians, and corporations, she also worked as a public relations, marketing, crisis communication, and community affairs consultant.
As an executive in government, telecommunications, steel, natural gas, water, technology, human services, business, and technology, she has more than 30 years of experience. She is an expert and sought-after consultant in the fields of public relations, marketing, and communications as a result of her background as head of public relations for a national entertainment and sports organization, Chief Marketing Officer for a global non-profit and Corporate Vice President. She also brings more than a decade of experience fostering the growth and development of minority owned businesses, connecting them with corporate purchasing opportunities.
Her speaking experience includes keynotes, emceeing, and facilitating/instructing audiences as large as 4,000. Her messages include women's empowerment and leadership, diversity, minority business development, family history, ancestral lineage for Black History Month, marketing, public relations, and communications.
Mosby authored her autobiography, "Unflappable" which documents the first 40 years of her life, growing up in Gary, Indiana. Born into a family already seasoned with age and older children, she introduces readers to her life in an honest and sometimes humorous coming-of-age story. In childhood, she was prepared for life's twists and turns, including mortality between her parents when both faced battles with cancer.
Carolyn is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the first Vanguard Award from the National Minority Supplier Development Council for outstanding leadership by a regional council President. In 2015
she was recognized as a Small Business Influencer. In 2016 she was included as a Top 25 Woman
in Power Impacting Diversity in DiversityPlus Magazine; in 2021, she was honored as a Woman of
Influence by the Indianapolis Business Journal, and in 2022, she was awarded the Black
Business Woman of Year by YES Consulting and Business Woman of the Year by A Seat at the
Table.
